RELIGIOUS SCHOOL REGISTRATION AT
2005 - 2006
Temple Shalom of Milton is
accepting registrations for its Rabbi Jerome Weistrop Religious School
for children in grades pre-kindergarten to high school, ages 3 to 16 years
old. Classes start
The Story Hour class is
designed for 3-5 year-old children and meets one Sunday a month. This program introduces children to the
Jewish holidays through stories and arts and crafts. It helps foster a sense of Jewish community and interaction with
other Jewish children.
The Gan class, for students
in secular school kindergarten, meets every Sunday,
The Aleph class, for students in third grade, meets Sunday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. This class begins the study of the Hebrew language in depth, as well as further study of Jewish concepts and beliefs.
Every Sunday morning, from 11-11:30, the entire school (parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend) meets in the chapel for a learners’ service, where they learn not only the melodies of the prayers of the Shabbat morning service, but also learn about the importance and content of the prayers they are chanting. Transliteration of the prayers is provided for those parents unable to read Hebrew.
All of the above are open to students with no religious school background. The more advanced classes – Gimmel, Daled , Hey and Vuv – are available to students with previous religious school background.
